Being fully surrendered to God is not a one and done decision, though it begins with a conscious determination and willful choice to be dedicated and lovingly abandoned to Him and His will. Like any other commitment in life, it requires daily and continual focus and intentional determination and yielding.

As we near the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we have no better example of a surrendered life than His. Jesus’ whole focus in life was to fulfill the will of the Father. He was not here to gain popularity, get rich, live a comfortable life that avoided conflict, suffering or hardships. He was completely surrendered to accomplish His ordained purpose.

As we noted in our last post, the scripture exhorts us to be thankful. “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 

Once we begin to focus on being thankful, it changes our outcome on life. It can even rearrange our circumstances to line up to God’s perfect will for our lives. By being thankful, we turn our attention to the goodness of God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
