Are We Really Surrendered?

There is a fresh move of the Spirit across the earth, and it is drawing men and women, boys, and girls, to full surrender to the Lordship of Christ. None of us have arrived at the perfection we are capable of in Christ, but there is a difference between just getting by and full surrender. There is a difference between lip service and heart surrender. There is a difference between surface Christianity and surrendered discipleship. There is a difference between self-preservation and absolute surrender.

Jesus gave His disciples the recipe for showing Him their love. Loving obedience to His word (John 14:15, 21). The apostle Paul admonished the church at Rome by saying, “but yield yourselves unto God… (Romans 6:13b).

We are living in the time of the end of this age, whether one or five years before the coming of the Lord, and things are coming on the earth to sift men’s hearts, and to shift governments, nations, and cultures. What side will you and I be on? Will we stand up for righteousness or shrink back to a cowardly place of safety? God is looking for those with yielded hearts, so He can show Himself strong on their behalf (2 Chronicles 16:9).

The Church is called to be Salt and Light. If we lose our saltiness, we will be trodden under foot by men (Matthew 5:13). If we no longer serve the purpose of God in the earth, what good are we for the world? If we are not bringing light to lost and dying people, what is our purpose, and how are we really being useful for the Kingdom of God. The Father is looking for true believers that are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and who will lovingly share the Good News with family, friends, coworkers, and others.

In my updated book, The Eleventh Hour Servants,’ I share how every day over 183,000 individuals die and enter eternity. That is more than 7500 per hour. [https://www.concerningspiritualthings.com/books]. As you can see, the need for believers to become obedient in sharing their faith is paramount.

Yet, we are not only discussing soul winning in this post, but we are also discussing surrender to the Father… surrender to Christ. If we are fully surrendered to Christ, we will do His will, whether giving a glass of water (Mark 9:4) or washing the saints feet (John 13:14 or taking His message to lost and broken people (Mark 16:15-18). It is that simple, though not always easy… but He is worthy.

The prophet Samuel told king Saul, “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22(b).

Let us not allow this year to pass without increased fruit from our obedience, and may we continue to examine our hearts for areas we have not submitted to the Father’s loving rule. He is for us and not against us (Romans 8:31). He is worthy of our loving submission and obedience.

Until next time, may God our Heavenly Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ richly bless and keep you.
